Summary of Scientific Status of Human Growth Hormone Secretagogues
This summary is largely based on information from the following links:Link on this site: Conference Report - Endocrinology of Aging, 2000, Medscape.com

Study by Dr. Daniel Rudman ,

Results of restoring HGH secretion to youthful level: Higher energy levels
Decreased fat, especially in abdominal area, without dieting, greater decrease with dieting
Increased muscle mass without exercise, greater increase with exercise
Reduced appetite
Increased memory
Enhanced sexual performance
Thicker skin
Wrinkle reduction or removal
Superior immune function
Improved sleep
Improved cholesterol profile, with higher HDL and lower LDL
Stronger bones
Hair re-growth after thinning or partial loss due to aging
Restoration of Hair Color
Elimination of cellulite
Increased exercise performance
Sharper vision after decline requiring reading glasses
Mood elevation
Better kidney function
Lowered blood pressure
Re-growth of heart, liver, spleen, kidneys, and other organs that shrink with age
Greater cardiac output
Faster wound healing
Below is a quick summary of the technique and the level of the scientific documentation of each aspect:
1. Levels of human growth hormone (HGH) decline with age.
Fully documented scientific fact
2. Younger adults who have the rare condition of adult HGH deficiency prematurely suffer physical declines similar to aging persons. Fully documented scientific fact
3. Restoration of HGH levels in HGH deficient younger adults reverses some or all of the declines similar to aging. Fully documented scientific fact
4. Restoration of HGH levels in normally aging older persons reverses some of the declines due to aging in some people. Scientifically documented by a limited number of independent
studies
5. Taken orally on an empty stomach before sleeping, certain non-prescription Amino Acids, some small peptide molecules made from certain Amino Acids and a few other non-prescription nutrients stimulate the pituitary gland in the brain to release more HGH, with consistent safety. These are called HGH Secretagogues or HGH Stimulators. Scientifically documented by a limited
number of independent studies
6. Decline of HGH levels is not the only factor contributing to the effects of aging, although it does affect some of the most noticeable physical declines. Fully documented scientific fact
As you can see, this technique is not the complete answer to reversing the aging process, and more research is needed, even for what it can answer. Therefore, it is not a "fountain of youth." Nevertheless, the status of science on HGH indicates that we are "definitely on to something!" It is on that basis that we can say that this technique offers the opportunity to achieve some or all of the above results in many of the people who are willing to try it. It is an opportunity to rehabilitate certain physical problems "from within," without cosmetics, drugs or surgery.
Reasoning behind strategies for using HGH Secretagogues:
- Take on empty stomach at least two hours after eating. When food is eaten, the liver produces insulin as part of the digestive process. Insulin signals your system to reduce the amount of HGH secretion. Therefore, HGH secretagogues that contain sugars, gelatin capsules or other food substances might cause enough increase in insulin to prevent effectiveness by the HGH secretagogue.
- Use at bedtime. The pituitary gland's highest secretion of HGH is usually at night during deep sleep.
- Get a full 7 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Insufficient sleep might prevent the deep sleep period during which HGH secretion is highest. Also, full sleep is required to allow your body enough time to do all of the tissue maintenance required to avoid decline.
- Get proper nutrition including a good multivitamin. Your body needs the supplies to do all of the tissue maintenance required to avoid decline.
- Use before exercise. Exercise also stimulates your pituitary gland to secret more HGH. Strength (resistance) exercises cause more HGH secretion than aerobic exercise. Strength exercises that use the legs cause the largest increase because your legs have the largest muscles in your body.
