Is MyHealthspan a taxable employee benefit?
Health spending accounts and employer-sponsored preventive health programs are generally treated as a non-taxable benefit in Canada when administered through a Private Health Services Plan (PHSP). We recommend confirming with your benefits advisor or accountant for your specific structure.
Will employee health data be shared with the employer?
Never. Individual health results are completely private and belong to the employee. Employers receive only anonymized, aggregate insights at the population level. We are fully PIPEDA-compliant, and all health data is stored securely.
Can we pilot the program before a full rollout?
Yes. We offer pilot programs for teams of 6 or more. This lets you evaluate the experience, gather employee feedback, and review aggregate outcomes before committing to a company-wide rollout.
How does the at-home blood draw work for distributed teams?
Our phlebotomist network covers all Canadian provinces. Each employee books their own appointment at a time that works for them. No office coordination needed. Employees in Ontario can also use Dynacare walk-in labs.
Can employees upgrade their individual tier?
Yes. If an employer sponsors any program, individual employees can upgrade by paying the difference directly. This gives employers cost control while letting motivated employees go deeper.. Most workplace HSA and FSA plans cover preventive blood testing — we provide the receipt for reimbursement. You can pause or cancel from your account anytime, no questions asked.
Is this HSA/FSA eligible?
Yes. MyHealthspan memberships are eligible for Health Spending Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts. We provide detailed receipts for reimbursement.
Can we gift a membership for employee milestones or anniversaries?
Absolutely. Many employers use MyHealthspan memberships as milestone gifts for work anniversaries, promotions, or retention incentives. Contact us and we'll set up individual gift memberships.
