Which one if I want to understand my hormones?+

Baseline or Complete. Focus doesn't carry hormone markers.

Can I switch membership levels later?+

Yes. Your coach will tell you if a fuller picture would help, and you can move to another membership at your renewal. The new membership's annual price is charged when that renewal begins, and we email you before every renewal so you have time to decide. If you have a question about timing, write to connect@myhealthspan.com.

Not sure at all?+

Answer five questions and we'll suggest one. It takes about two minutes and it's a membership match, not a health assessment.

Can I test more than once a year?+

Yes. Every membership includes one full draw a year. If you and your coach want to check on a change sooner, your coach recommends what to retest and when, and helps you book it. Retests are priced separately from your membership.

The draw

How does the at-home blood draw work?+

You pick a time, and a phlebotomist comes to your home or workplace anywhere in Canada. The visit takes about 15 minutes: they take the draw and your body measurements, then the samples go to the lab the same day. No clinic, no waiting room, no referral.

How much blood is taken?+

A few small tubes, the same as a routine blood test at a lab. The visit takes about 15 minutes.

Do I need to fast?+

Fasting isn't required for Focus or Baseline, but we recommend at least 8 hours if you can. It makes results like glucose and triglycerides more accurate and easier to interpret. Complete requires a 14-hour fast because the fatty acid panel needs it. You'll get instructions when you book, and water is fine.

What if I faint or don't like needles?+

Tell your phlebotomist. They do this all day, they'll have you lie down if that helps, and they won't rush you.

What does the phlebotomist do at an at-home visit?+

Confirms who you are, takes the draw, and takes your body measurements: blood pressure, height, weight, and waist. Then the samples go to the lab the same day.

Results and coaching

When do I get results?+

In about 4 to 5 days on average, in the app. You'll get a notification when they're ready.

Who reviews them?+

A licensed nurse practitioner orders your tests and reviews every blood test result. Results can appear in your app before that review is complete, and your coach walks you through anything that needs attention.

What does “out of range” mean?+

It means a value sits outside the reference range, the band that decides whether a result reads as normal or worth a closer look. Our clinical team sets ranges from published reference data, by sex and age where the science supports it. An out-of-range result is a signal to pay attention, and it doesn't diagnose anything on its own. A licensed nurse practitioner reviews every blood test result, and your coach explains what matters and what to do next.

What does the coach do?+

Tells you which two or three things matter, what to do first, and helps you plan it. Every membership includes one 1:1 session (45 minutes with Focus, 60 minutes with Baseline and Complete), and you leave with a personalized recommendation for further coaching and retesting. Book as soon as your results are in.

Add-ons

Can I buy an add-on without a membership?+

No. Add-ons are for members, after your first results, usually on your coach's recommendation.

How do I buy one?+

In the app, once your coach has recommended it or you've talked it through with them.

What's available?+

APOE and hereditary DNA tests, a 14-day continuous glucose monitor, a cognitive assessment, VO2 max, and a DEXA scan. Your coach recommends the ones that fit what your results show.

Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba, at any Dynacare location.

I'm somewhere else in Canada.+

A phlebotomist comes to you for the at-home draw, in every province. Lab walk-in is available at any Dynacare location in Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba.

Money

How am I charged?+

Once a year, when you join and at each renewal. There are no monthly or quarterly payments.

Is a membership HSA eligible?+

Yes. Memberships are HSA eligible. Your receipt is available in the app.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?+

You can cancel any time in the app or by emailing connect@myhealthspan.com. Your membership stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Fees are generally non-refundable. If you ask before we've ordered a test or shipped a kit, we may refund some or all of it. Once a test is ordered or a kit ships, that cost can't be refunded. Read our full refund policy.

Privacy

Where is my data stored?+

In Canada. MyHealthspan is the custodian of your health records under PHIPA and PIPEDA.

What don't you do with my data?+

We don't sell it, we don't share it with employers or insurers, and we don't use it for anything you haven't agreed to.

Is this medical advice?

Is this medical advice?+

No. It's testing, explained. A nurse practitioner reviews your blood test results, and you can download or share them with your healthcare provider. Nothing here diagnoses or treats anything.
